Crankcase ventilation
I have been playing around with some ideas for my new motor, and why dose the road drought system work the opposite way from what the book says?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzGq654N-B0 dose anyone here have some pictures of a PCV for a Bren gun carrier? could someone ID the parts in the video? I have most of a PCV system from one of them I think, but I have used the big port in the manifold for my Mastervac brake booster Last edited by Rudolph; 10-05-2020 at 10:07 PM. |

Re: Crankcase ventilation
Rudi, just tee the vac line; one side to your booster, the other to the PVC. it's all vacuum, which 'sucks' lol.
Just duplicate the original WW2 military setup for the PCV, seems you've got most of it....the brakes can be plumbed into the same vac source by the manifold, that'll provide the vacuum assist for the booster.

Re: Crankcase ventilation
I worry oil might find its way down to the boosters if I do that, I might use that other fitting if I can from the vacuum port next to the big one.

Re: Crankcase ventilation
If ford sed the air was pulled down out of the tube in the sump why did they put a separator in the vent tube in the fuel pump vent? I don’t think it really works how they wanted

Cleaned it up, it says Doialdsous crankcase ventilator take apart every 2 years or 10,000 miles and wash, in stall and an arrow. I can’t see how it comes apart, it may be worn out

Re: Crankcase ventilation
Actually it’s a useless hunk of junk and I am not going to use it, I am going to drill that blanking plate in the FR side of the intake and install a modem valve and run it to the rear port on the manafold

Re: Crankcase ventilation
I put the valve where the truck oil filler goes and connected it to the rear of the manifold, there was zero moisture on the oil cap witch the engine use to get on a cold start, I plugged the vent in the sump but the one on the fuel pump is still open. I can hear it sucking at idol but it closes at higher RPM, didn’t seem to have any effect on pilot mixture or idol speed
