Default 6 volt positive ground voltage regulator

Looking for a regulator to use with a 3 brush generator. Decided not to use the cutout but will wire it through for looks. I am looking for a p/n that would be readily available through somewhere like NAPA or any othe prats supplier.
Thanks

This is what you need for a 3 brush generator.

Bob

Yeah and seen that but being north of the 49th, am hoping to find a generic regulator that I can use.

Tom makes a electronic cutout for models a's. I believe. Here is a thread to connect.

6 volt might be tough. 56 on for ford was 12v, late to the "scene" as they say.

Appears that a Standard VR10 will work as it is a 6 volt regulator, 3 terminal for a positive ground.

The three brush generator is not designed to work with a three unit regulator. The third brush is set to the generator out put required which should not be over about 15 amps which is the generator safe maximum. But you cant run a 3 brush generator all day long at 15 amps otherwise the battery could be overcharged. Use the FUN PROJECTS round voltage regulator on your third brush generator. If you want to use a three unit regulator then you need to use the later 39 Ford or later 2 brush generator. The 3 unit regulator has a current (amps) control in the centre which is set to about 30 amps which matches the two brush type generators. IT CANT BE SET DOWN TO SUIT THE 15 AMP 3 BRUSH GENERATOR. You cant just mix and match different components which you THINK might work OK. Hope you can understand this explanation. Regards, Kevin.

Main thing with 3 and 2 brush generator is they are A and B type so using a B-type regulator from a 2 brush will never work on it...no matter what amps you set it for.
Using an A-type regulator from a GM and adjusting current regulation may work...but the fun project unit looks nice...
