I have not heard that 3w arms are different, please explain were I have a 3w

The arms are not unique. What is different is the mounting brackets on the windshield. The 3W brackets are removable and get lost. If they are replaced with brackets from non 3W windshields, the arms will not close all the way down. I have original 3W arms and both style brackets so I might be right.
