Checking Transmission Fluidmin 1949 Ford
How to check the Transmission Fluid level in a 1949 Ford 8BA Engine with standard Transmission. Also, if fluid is needed where do you put it in and what type fluid would I need. Thanks very much.

Re: Checking Transmission Fluidmin 1949 Ford
You have a plug on the side of the transmission...you fill up to the level where it will come out the plug.
For gearlube there are many opinions...just make sure it´s safe for the brass syncros. I use normal 80w90 API GL3 nothing fancy. |

GL-4 will be ok. Viscosity depends on how you like the way it shifts.
