Default sweet tires, and a chopped hood, some humor for ya

last night i drove my 31 coupe 25 miles down the gravel roads to a small town bar for a burger and a beer, with the optional full moon drive home. i do this once a month or so, and usually park on a side street to not draw a crowd. last night a young fellow was out side, saw me, and then approached me inside. cool car, what is it, bla bla bla, then tells me he has never seen one original, only ones with a chopped hood, and sweet tires. i kinda thought my goodyear diamond treads were sweet, but perhaps not. chopped hood? i didnt want to go there

Certainly he was referring to the fact you sectioned the car 4"s (which is amazing) and pancaked the hood.

I love the guys that tell me their uncle had one just like it. But green and a Buick, just like yours.

All good

Be thankful that a 'young fellow' appreciated your car in whatever format it is. Where you parked, it get get attention.

Saw a nice 58 ford going down the road and I followed them. Turns out I knew another of the clan.

Talking to the young kid he was really interested in my 36, but I was more interested in his 58 ford 4 dr. His grampa was there and we spent some time talking fords. It was the first time the younger road the car that was given to him. The kid knew a bit more then i expected about mechanics.

Lucky kid to have support. He was pretty glad to do his first run with the 58. Super nice kid and grandpops. I did explain that if you want a certain car work up to it.

I pulled up to a stop light the other day in my 47 and a car rolled up beside me, the back window rolled down, and a young man that looked around twelve asked me, does your car have a flathead V8 in it, I gave him a thumbs up, dad was grinning in the front seat.
