Default 1934 door check strap how?

Installing my 34 3W door check strap(nos) but the 3W has wood in the "B" pillar. I looked at my other 34's and they all have 2 screw holes for small bolts to hold it to metal "B" pillars. What now? Any help from someone with a 3W that can take a peek? Thanks in advance Fred

Seems like a 3-W uses the same metal clamp that bites into the strap but uses long wood screws to attach deep into the wood door post. Been a while since I did that.

My 34 3w has the end of the strap held to the wood insert in the pillar by a little u shaped plate with claw edges, and two long wood screws,

Yes, that's what I remember. The U-plate has some teeth on it that tighten down into the strap when you determine the stop point.

I thought there was something missing. I have a few of those clamps with the teeth but I thought ford would be more ingenious than just a couple of screws. Thanks guys.
