Phaeton rear rubber mats
A little over a year ago, the die for the phaeton rear rubber mat broke and has never been replaced. It doesn't sound like its going to be. I've called every model a part supplier I know of and nobody can get one. What are we phaeton owners supposed to do? What other mat will work? Is a rumble seat mat close or a Tudor sedan rear mat close enough I could trim it down? Would anybody happen to have an extra rear phaeton mat they would be willing to sell? Thanks

Re: Phaeton rear rubber mats
So nobody has restored a phaeton in the last year?

Re: Phaeton rear rubber mats
I could make them. I made the RHD front floor mat mold and sold hundreds and hundreds of mats. I have the "Spatter Pattern" as filmwork. There is a lot of time and expense on my part to just get to the pattern stage.
Any body have any thoughts? I would need an original mat sample to get started. Need not be complete or in perfect condition. My RHD mat mold below. (Now sold). and pic of the first pressing.

Les, the guys who bought your old business told me they are looking at making the mats as well but who knows when. They have one of the reproductions to get measurements from.

That’s good if they do. There are some monumental hurdles along the way and a lot of expense. I wish them luck. It will save me a lot of hassles. I would have made them if we were really stuck.
