Default 4 Blade fan hits radiator.

I did a search but couldn't come up with an answer.

I've recently installed a 4 blade fan on my 30' Model A after seeing a major crack on my original 2 blade.

Installed, the fan hits the radiator.. I am at a loss, Is there a way to bring the radiator forward? Or bring the fan back?

If this is a new 4 blade fan having a cast iron hub and pressed steel blades held together by 4 bolts I wouldn't fit that either!!!
I have had one of those fly apart and take out the radiator and the water pump
Best bet to use a cast ally or plastic blade one

It's a NOS original 4 blade, not a recast. This one is riveted together

Go back to a 2 blade! lol Serioulsy though, I love my new aluminum 2 blade. For around $40 you can't beat it. And it looks like it belongs to boot!
Good Luck whatever you decide, D Lazaris.

Hits at the bottom? Hits at the waterpump shaft?

The fan blade hits the bottom of the radiator but not at the top. It clears the water pump housing fine

Are the blades bent forward?

I had that happen and it turned out that the keyway hole had broken and was allowing the fan blade to wobble which allowed the fan to "hit" against a part of the radiator as the blade rotated.

I had to try a few fans to find one with the right pitch an size to clear everything

Does your hand crank line up properly if you try to crank the car?

I worked on a 39 Ford with that problem. Turns out the fan was for a truck, and the blades were longer than one for a car, so they hit the lower radiator core.

ever try to replace a water pump equipped with a 4 blade?? the radiator has to come out. With a 2 blade, it does not. The advantages of a 2 blade out number the 4 blade in performance, fit, appearance, and cost.

Try loosening the radiator mounting bolts and move the rad forward at the bottom?? Are the blade lengths the same on the 4 blade as the two blade?? Fan "seated" on the w/pump shaft??
