Dipstick for my 53' Mercury
The book shows the part number as EAB-6750-A. I have found one but the part number on the stick is EAB-6750-A3. Anyone know what the difference would be? I currently have the wrong dipstick 8BA, which was used for the rear sump oil pan.

I'm not sure what it meant back then, but when I retired from Ford (2013), the number at the end of the suffix designated a different supplier for the same part.

Re: Dipstick for my 53' Mercury
My book indicates that EAB 6750-A, at 19 1/4" long is the correct one for 52-53.

Re: Dipstick for my 53' Mercury
Thank you both for the replays. That clears it up.
The one I found is NOS, so it is a bit pricey. There is a time a place for everything but I am not sure I need a NOS one, so I will search for a used one, if no luck I will bite the bullet. Thanks again for your assistance. Last edited by Merc Cruzer; 10-10-2019 at 11:49 AM. |

I kept hearing a noise on the video, that I didn't hear while driving with the top down. That's what happens when you tape the microphone down by the rear bumper. I am tempted to tape the microphone under the car and then do a video to see what I hear. Turned out to be a lose exhaust pipe hanger. You may have heard, the Rockies are getting a storm today, so the video should be ready some time this weekend. Today is time to just have a nice fire in the fireplace and enjoy being retired. Re: Dipstick for my 53' Mercury
Bought the NOS one on ebay. Not many of these around. Thought I would add pictures of both.
