Default You bought what?

In Oct. was back in Iowa visiting family, and while visiting an old school friend, he opened a quart jar of Apple Pie. Now, that was an experience, very smooth, but one heck of a kick. We started talking about cars, and sure enough, he says, come on out to the barn......................

Sure enough there sat a car that I had not even believed I had any interest in. 1929 Tudor. But the more I looked at it, the more I thought I could bring this out to California and at least turn a few bucks on it. Said he'd take $6000 for it. New tires, new tubes, new wheels. "Does it run?" Said it did a few years ago.

After some diddling with the carb and distributor, it fired right up and off we went for a ride.
While it's not perfect, and the paint has many little chips etc. it appears to be one of those just add oil and gas and drive it the way it is.

Will go back in the spring to do some work on it before shipping it out. Looking forward to having it in my stable.

Nice score,I love it when a Model A finds "you" and not the other way around. Those are always special cars. Hang on to that baby and treat her like the queen she is.Frank

Jim, you lucky devil. Good friend, good booze, and you ended up with a good car. All in one afternoon. If you want to turn this into something really memorable, you should have your wife, partner, friend or whatever drive back to Iowa with you and a whole bunch of tools, extra parts, a bolt-on tow bar, and magnetic tow lights.

I think I can safely promise you that that trip back home would be something you’d never forget. Maybe never recover from either, so maybe not.

Looks good, so I'd check the fluids and drive it home and enjoy the adventure. Save the shipping costs.

Well your right. In California that is even more of a steal. That car could have gone for that here in Calif 25 years ago.

Welcome Jim,

Great looking car. I think when you get her home, you may rethink selling her.

After you start playing with it and hook up with your local Model A Club you may have it for life. :-)
PS The San Fernando A's meet the third wed of the month on the second floor of their Truck showroom.
