Model B timing cover question

I have what I believe is a model B timing cover. Unfortunately it is covered with dirt and grease. I found a cover that looks just like it on eBay that is clean (attached picture). My question is: Do all model B timing covers have the elongated boss where the timing pin is located, which makes them easily identifiable? I am wondering if there are model B covers that look similar to model A covers - i.e. no elongated boss (making them harder to identify). It sure looks like the B and A covers have the same timing pin location from what I can see. The model B cover has a little different area where the generator mounting is. The left cover is what I believe is a B cover and the right cover is what I think is a model A cover.

I think you will find that the cover on the left is actually a later Model A cover (that uses the same casting as the Model B cover) as identified by the hole for the timing pin being at the bottom of the elongated boss. The answer to your question is that all Model B covers have the elongated boss but so do some post production Model A covers.

Both shown are Model A timing Covers, the dead giveaway is the location of the timing pin hole.

The example on the left is a post production replacement used for both Model A replacement and Model B production. However the Model B example has the timing pin hole location at the other end of the elongated boss,

Thanks all for setting me straight on the covers. I thought the "B cover" looked similar to an A cover due to the timing pin location. However, the generator mounting is different from a model A cover - why?

Vince says it was to clear the B lower radiator hose.
