Been playing with the initial timing. Seems to be good with an initial of 18. Is that correct?

Id say its too far advanced if your readings are correct.Ive found 8 degrees initial to be optimal for me,but my compression is 7.5 to 1,running a late b cam, holley 94 and header,my volumetric effciency is higher than a stock configuration..

I started out at 9 but the engine runs toward the warmer side. I am still running the stock A head and carb.

Thumbs up Re: B Carb and B Distributor

I believe Mac's is selling "B" points and condensers now. Also, don't forget the "B" dizzy uses slightly longer bronze spark plug leads. I finally put a "B" dizzy on my '31 roadster and it is probably the best thing I've done for it.

How would you verify “10” percent.

Actually verify? Why? Do it,if you like it run it,if not tear it off and sell it.Thats the fun part, flinging it against the wall,if it sticks you feel good,if not, move on.

I still prefer the original distributor , its less complicated . I like having the ability to retard and advance the distributor myself . I'm use to it and consider it as part of the model A charm ..
