Default 31 Slant Window firewall badge placement?

Hi fellow Model A guys, I am in the middle of refurbishing an older restoration of a barn find early 31 slant window four door sedan (Non indented firewall). The paint is far from perfect but will polish up enough for a driver. The rats totally wiped out the interior so it will have to be replaced. Their droppings built up behind the seats and caused some rust out behind the back seat, all of which will be repaired pretty easily with a little effort. My question is where on the firewall does the Briggs or Murray model badge go. The original illegible factory data plate was still in place with the four little push rivets but there are no little holes for the model data plate. I got the plate but don't know quite where to put it. Thanks for your help. A photo would be very helpful. Ya just gotta love these old Model A Fords. I have had 22 of them over the last 58 years. My first one was a 31 Deluxe coupeat the age of 15, but this is my first slant window four door. They sure are a different car than the rest. Keep on Model A'n. Blessings, Curt

If it does not look like there was ever a body plate attached, I would leave it as is. Not all Fordors had a plate & with the s/w '31's, it is not obvious who would have assembled the body [ Briggs; Murray or Ford] as they all look the same except for a few details of which someone will surely tell you. Some had a plate on the floor, or not at all.
Fordors assembled in Canada had no body plate [ & no data plate after 1928] but did have a number stamped into the wood in front of the seat preceded by a stylised ' F' designating the main Ontario Plant.

My early SWTS (early May) (flat firewall) did not have a manufactures plate on the firewall.

my august 31 SW has no manufacturers plate either. Its a briggs, but I only know that from the briggs bug on the dash rail framing and from the rear window registers

That's the same with mine.
Even though it does have the 4 empty holes below the patent plate, there never was a manufacturer plate there.

I also have a March 160-B and it has the holes for a plate. I was informed a few years back by some very reliable sources, that the 160-B S/W Town Sedans did not come with a badge. The holes were punched when the cowl was made.

My slant assembled at the Twin Cities plant has no manufacturers plate, the holes are there, but close looking shows no drive rivet marks in the holes. It is an unrestored, early indented firewall car.
