Default Driver Licneses In a Model A -- After Oct., 1st

After Oct., 1st 2020 if you want to airtravel in the U.S., your drivers licenses must have a Star at the top -- and be in compliance State-Issue Enhanced Drivers Licenses reffered to as a REAL-ID

I'm gonna test in my 1931 PicUp !!

Tho others forms of ID are acceptable for airtravel, your States Drivers -- if that's all you have -- must be REAL-ID

Do you need to redo your road test for that? In CT I got the star when I renewed my license last time. Keep us posted on how it goes!

I just renewed my license (Alberta), I noticed that it changed from an Operator's License to a Driver's License. I always kinda wondered why it was an Operator's license.

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges." Doubt that'll work on the TSA.

You only need that REAL ID (A STAR IN THE CORNOR) to go thru TSA at the airport or other government buildings after Oct. 1.. A pass port or military ID will also suffice to satisfy the TSA requirements. To get the star on your drivers license you need to provide your birth certificate and proof of your address.

Illinois held out for a long time on it, until the Fed ordered them to do this, now we have to have the yellow star by October 2020 if you want the Real ID. You need it to enter a military post or to fly.

Handier than dragging your passport around I went ahead and got it. No big deal. I think they charged like 5 bucks to re-do your license.

What will be a nuisance is when they decide to put us thru all of this stuff to board Amtrak. So far you walk up to the train, step on, and you're off to the races. One of the last freedoms of moving about at least for us not in the NE corridor.

In Virginia no special test, costs a few dollars more, and you need the required proof of who you are.

More big brother stuff just like gun control. Don't worry, provisions will be made to accommodate those who want to harm us.
