Default Ammeter for 12 volt model a

Is it necessary to install a 12 volt ammeter in a model a that has been converted from a 6 volt system? Or, will the original ammeter work ok?

When measuring Amperes, Voltage isn't an issue (except for limiting high voltages).
Amperage is a measure of flow, while voltage is a measure of pressure.
an original ammeter will work on a 12v system as long as you keep the amps below the limits of the meter.
