I can't believe how green everything is but for long distance driving in my A, "It's the wide, brown land for me!"
For our American readers, that is a quotye from the poem "I love a sunburnt country" by Dorothea Mackeller.

Never the less, your trip brought back memories of some of the trips I have done. We (wife and I) hope there are plenty to come. Thankyou.

All the troubles were nothing over the fun I had and places to see in an "A". Also saying no to the T-5 upgrade as I really enjoyed the driving and double clutching, the gear sound winding up is a great part of an “A”.

Sure was fun to take some old "junk" down the road. Hope it motivates a few to get out there. I'll keep you updated for the next trip!
Let us know what you figure out the mechanical problem (s) were when you get a handle on that. This was an inspirational read. Time for a road trip.

I'd love to make a long trip in my CCPU but it vibrates so bad over 30mph it would take forever and a day to get anywhere.

Back in the mid '50s my friends Dad had a Model A panel truck that we used to camp in when on fishing trips. Chris's picture of the interior (post 11) reminded me of that. That Model A burnt up when we were at the river fishing, we figured it got hit by lightening, but never knew for sure.

Thanks, thats about my limit without overdrive or gears, the tall rear tires help. I'm worried anything over and I'll be picking my visor and roof up off the highway.

How did you do the "Champion" signage on the canvas? Looks real neat, congratulations on a job well done.

How much did you extend the bed? In my CCPU I'd have to sleep with my knees under my chin.

Thanks again guys! The artwork is digital print on cotton tent canvas, I was worried about adhesion since its a weather treated canvas but has help up of two years of road abuse. I'm a designer by trade and may run out some sewn grommeted banners in the future.

Bed was influenced by some of the T aftermarket beds. I thought 6' (interior) looked right when mocked up without relocating the rear axle. At 6' myself I tI barely fit however I failed to compensated for the pillow! After a few overnights I found corner to corner room without bending the legs. An air mattress helps compensate for the trucks rake.

Word of caution... I used to hang all the pots, cans, fishing rods and lanterns inside off the rafters until a late night bathroom need had me rattling the camp and my skull. Safety first.

Found the answer to my trouble home, the timing gear.
Gave me a little confusion as the teeth didn't strip so it would start (but not right up). I believe the cam nut worked all the way loose after all these miles. Just enough for it to turn the dizzy but walks back and forth and enough play to skip a tooth or two. Pins are barely holding it on. Easy fix and new gear and nut on the way!
