Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Part 1 this evening looked like a Model A convention. Cars were too shiny. Um, and way too much drama...

The Roadster he was driving on his first date with Bonnie looked like a Shay to me.

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
I was disappointed with the movie, to much jumping around. I like Model A's but if you see one you've seen them all. Maybe the 2nd half will be better. Walt

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
I was excited at the begining when I saw that '34 cruising down the road, but as it progressed.... I agree with what Walt said, I was also disappointed. Maybe part 2 will be better.

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Not even close to the original Bonnie and Clyde with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. This one was boring. I turned it off after about 30 minutes,

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Wonder why they are so glorified and memorialized? They were worse than the dope head meth labbers we have today that invade homes and steal from innocent hard working people. Bonnie and Clyde were your typical lowlifes that were too lazy to work and wanted it all for nothing.Period

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
The cars.....chrome spokes?
In '32 Clyde did latch on to the Ford V8 and he stole as new as he could get. Lots of jumping around.....lots of inaccuracies....there is some truths ..........hmmmmmm......sounds like Hollywood to me. Don't expect part 2 to be any different.....we all know how it ends! |

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
I watched part of the Bonnie & Clyde movie last night and finally gave up - too many commercials. Also in the first part of this episode it was all Model A Fords - I didn't see any V8s. I may give it another try Wed., hoping the advertisers run out of money (less commercials) and that some flathead Fords appear.

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Well part two ain't starting any better. We all know that the pic of Bonnie with the cigar was in front of a 32. But they have her in front of a model A. Hollywood at its worst.

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Other than seeing a whole lot of Fords this movie was really inaccurate. Obviuosly they hired a model A club because there were no other makes to be seen. The scene where they had the 34 pulled behind the 36 towtruck (in 1934) the 34 had fake bullet hole decals on it. Shay model A's. Chrome wheels and on. You would think that they would try to be somewhat correct in that regard.
The new actress is cute tho. |

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
They must have ran out of money or too cheap to rent early ford V8s for the movie!
I was sure they wouldn't have a 32 B-400 like the one they stole from a banker that was never recovered. No good! The movie was a drag! |

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
Plenty of inaccurate things in the movie but in the end it was just a movie. Did we really expect "Hollywood types" to get things right. It still had a lot of nice looking cars, buildings & costumes in it. I knew they would get it wrong but enjoyed it for what it was. A movie.
Side note. TCM played Manhattan Melodrama this morning. The movie Dillinger saw before he was gunned down in Chicago.

Re: Bonnie and Clyde movie on TV this Sunday night
What I did not like was the use of the "shay" reproduction phaeton in the movie, come on let's use the right years.cars.
