Default Top Irons for early '28 Phaeton

My brother-in-law recently purchased an early '28 Phaeton at an auction in Kansas. The car is pretty complete and runable, but needs a set of top irons. I mentioned to him that he should contact Bert's in Denver (he's in Iowa), but anybody here have a line on a set? He's primarily into T's, but got a sweet deal on the Phaeton and a '31 Tudor as well as a '23 Centerdoor at the auction.

Are the early '28 phaeton top irons the same as the later ones? How early is his phaeton?

It was advertized as an "AR" and has the pistol grip brake lever, Abell starter and Powerhouse generator. I've asked him to determine if he has the single-brake system since that would determine if it really is an early '28.

As near as I can tell from looking in my references, the top irons didn't change on the Phaetons from introduction through at least the switch to the '30/'31 styles.

Brent,

What are the differences then? He's more interested in a nice driver than a show car, will any '28/'29 Top Irons work?

I checked the standards, As Henry Built it, and the Service Bulletins.

Thanks much.

There are differences. The pivots and saddles are indifferent locations

I was afraid that might be the case. He's running for Supervisor in his local town, so hasn't had alot of time the past couple days. Hopefully I'll find out if its really an early '28 in the next couple days. I kinda hope for his sake its not.
