what a great loss to the Model A community. Al's commitment to excellence has resulted in some great reproduction parts, and his service was always down home friendly. I spoke with him about a month ago. I wish I had the opportunity to have met him. My condolences to his family and friends.

What a loss to his family and to the hobby. His parts were always of high quality and he was a patient and friendly face wherever he set up. We will all miss him.

I was always amazed at his one-on-one approach to doing business. Sadly, now I am extremely glad I talked with him again in French Lick and expressed my small but sincere thanks for his contributions to our hobby.

I too am very sad to hear this news. A great loss to our hobby. At French Lick, I spoke with him a few minutes and thanked him again for all the great parts he repo'd over the years. I always did this when I saw him. Al didn't he really know me as I didn't buy a lot of stuff from him, but he always enjoyed a compliment about all the hard work he put into making our restorations better! What a nice gentleman. What a loss.

Rest in Peace, Al.

It was a great Honor for me to know AL. I met with him back somewhere in 1975/76. at Ridgefield Conn. meet. He had at that time just 1 folding table with his goods. Behind his van sat a newly restored 180A. i said to him i gotta find one of those. GOOD LUCK he said to me ... At French Lick he was packing up i walked upto him and said THANK YOU AL. "YOU ARE THE FATHER OF THE REBIRTH 180A. ! Have a safe trip home..All the parts this man made for the 180A ,there would not be 1 complete 180a today. Just alone the door ZINC step plate. Its a great loss today for the hobby!!!!!!!!!!!! And for me as a friend!

What a sad message to see posted. I remember buying parts from his catalog when I was in college back in 1972 for my Tudor and have been using A&L parts ever since. What a great loss to the Lepore family and our entire hobby. My simpathy to Elaine and Al Jr.

I didn't know Al well, but saw him at every meet we had here in Ridgefield, and like many of us bought the great parts he made. He was a very quiet guy, and the fact that his buisness was so low key yet produces some of the best products out there was truely amazing. I don't know when he started A&L but it seams like he was always there, now when I see a Model A I'll think of him and the other guys that have made this hobby so much fun.

This is sad new indeed. It's been two years since I saw and visited with Al. I've always had a great deal of respect for Al and always enjoyed visiting with him. He will be missed by many beyond myself.

Truly sad news. Have known him for decades and always talked with him at Hershey and the Nationals. Sure glad I was able to visit at French Lick.

This is a sad day for the Model A hobby. I met Al at Hershey in 1965 when I bought some hard to find parts for my '30 roadster. His reproduction parts have made the job of being a Blue ribbon judge a real challenge and I mean that as a big compliment. A real gentlemen and a pleasure to do business with. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow!!

Yes a said day indeed. Whenever someone mentioned the need for the closest repro part to original his name came up.

I am in shock. Visitted with him on the phone last week and ordered some horn and T/L parts. Earlier this spring I sent him some small original parts to use as a pattern for his next accurate reproduction. He was great to visit with about A stuff and things in general. I never met him in person, but wished I would have. He will be missed well beyond his work with A's. Rod
