Default For sale Tuesday Sullivan Auction

Thought I would share this rare 32 model A phaeton for sale on Tuesday.
Yes I know it is a 30 but that is what the sign says.

That would be a project car. I'm to old, makes me nervous thinking about it.

I think it can be restored. We looked at the 40 Continental convert but decided it would be a lot cheaper to buy a restored one Instead. My guess on money for the 30 will be 5 k and the 40 25 k

The model a sold for 4500.00 and the 40 Continental convert sold for 20k. I think that is.a good value for them.

Like many auctions some of the stuff is outta sight other stuff not a bad deal.

I thought the '32 Ford Cabriolet would have brought a lot more money, I was not at the sale maybe it had issues??

And let's not forget this little caveat
https://tax.iowa.gov/iowa-sales-tax-and-auctions

Gets kinda tricky heh what??

The reason I quit attending petroliana auctions in Iowa years ago. Got tired of the sales tax.

They make us pay tax for the swap meets now! I didn't see what the 32 cab went for I had a friend of mine check out the two cars for me I wasn't going to waste the day going there.
My friend went to buy cars he is a vintage dealer and he didn't buy anything to high a prices and there were 6000 registered bidders. He is going back on thursday for the petroliana.
Hope he gets something.

The prices look to be in line with retail the one Chevy fleetline fastback at 23 even in nice condition with 40 k miles supprised me the market is dying on prewar big fender cars both restored and street rod with some exceptions. The 26 Chevy touring in survivor mode at 7500 I thought was high not a lot buyers for those.
