Maybe you have a friend that could let you store the car in their garage for a time??

but I could only have access when it fits their schedule.

I think I’d just be inconvenienced for a few months…

I am in total agreement. Especially since it is restored.

Buy a car cover the first week. Make sure they have it in-stock. If need be, throw it away in 4 months. It's cheaper. Your insurance company may one day require it to be stored in a locked garage when you are not traveling in it.

I used to keep my Harley in the front room, had a friend that converted his house so he could park his car in the front room also, said he liked it that way because his kids could visit but not stay, yeah, he put a garage door in the bedroom and ripped out a wall.
Sure was cool when you walked into his house...

Your best bet is ask your friend who has inside storage to keep it for you. Anything kept outside will draw rats and other insects and make a disaster of your nice car. Hugh

Get a CarCapsule. I have 2 of them - they will recirculate air and protect it from varmits. They are portable and can be setup or relocated easily/quickly. Considering the value of the car, they are inexpensive.

not sure why anyone would expect "friends" to store their cars?

CarCapsule.com.

I still have 2 of the original clear bubble types we used up in the ‘great white north’. A 16’ that we kept my wife’s Mustang in, and a 18’ that I extended to 8.5’h for my TT Wrecker, for winter storage. They now make them at various heights for trucks and antique vehicles.

They do a great job of not only protecting the vehicle from damage, but recirculating air to prevent condensation in the never ending humidity and temp changes in winter months, as well as critter protection. Our TT was stored in the barn due to its size, so this saved the wood from deteriorating and kept the mice away from it. And If the vehicle went in clean, it came out clean.

They also have an opaque version for outside use if you want to protect from sun fading and concealing what’s inside.

These are great for storage.

Their latest model they call the Showcase, stays inflated when you unzip the end ‘garage door’ that can be used as another garage bay. Pretty neat. I would consider these if I was still up north and needed another bay. (We solved that when we moved here with a big garage)

They are a good company, and will assist you with sizing if you have an oddball vehicle size to store.

They start at about $500 now, but waaay worth it to protect your vehicles.

Good luck !

Just an fyi, these shipping containers are very easily broken into. We used to use them on our jobsites. After we lost about $15k worth of tools we would only put material in them and clearly mark NO TOOLS. One had a $50 padlock that was supposed to be theft proof. It was, the thief cut through the soft metal latch that the lock was attached to. Another time soft metal hinges were cut and yet another time quite simply a hole was cut into the side of one. I would never store anything of value in one of these again.

This may be the way to go if you desire a longer term storage idea
