Re: Connecting Rod Installation
Hi, I am reviving an old thread. I have a set of French rods that have a squirt hole drilled exactly as per Virgil's Canadian rod in post #17.
The hole can be seen as a bright mark under the "B" on the rod. it is at the top of the rod and not where I am used to seeing them in other types of engines (at 2.00 oclock or 10 oclock) The set of 8 rods are all the same with the bearing shell lock tabs on the right, when the squirt hole is at the front. Ronnie's picture is worth a thousand words, but I am not sure how to put this set in a motor. Is it done with nos. 1 to 4 with squirt holes to rear and 5 to 8 with holes to the front (this puts the B/E locking tangs to the pan line) Anybody know for sure? |

Re: Connecting Rod Installation

Re: Connecting Rod Installation
Thank you 51- MERC-CT, Can you please just clarify "left" and "right"?
Is it as we look at the front of the engine? Left = cylinders 1 to 4???? or from the drivers seat??? Thank you in advance (and wishing all a weather improvement, by the sound of things) |

Right bank (pass side) are to face to the rear. Just realized that this may be confusing according to your location. So this arrangement applies when the steering wheel is on the left. US style.

Re: Connecting Rod Installation
Left and right sides of a car is always from the drivers seat, left hand is left side and right hand is right side. As far as I know this is not country dependent.
