Looking for the best place to buy new or re-built reliable Holley 94's.... Or Stromberg 97's
Who do you think has the best deals and quality? I see MAC offers re-built 94's...how about Speedway's 9 Super 7's?? I was also looking at the Edlebrock 94 but they are backordered.... looking to buy trouble free carbs for a good price...thanks for the help....~E

You might want to do your homework before you give the Speedway carburetor-shaped objects anymore thought...

Re: Holley 94 help.....Or Stromberg 97's
Six,
Are you looking to run mutiple carbs....2x2 or 3x2? 94's are less expensive than Strombergs and are quite reliable. I like the all mechanical power valve design of the Strombergs plus to my eye they have a great look. The 94 vacuum PV design on multiple setups has prompted some spirited debate. Original properly rebuilt carbs still have a solid home in our world and are about 2/3 the cost of repops. It's a given that you cannot toss a kit into a 70 year old carb and expect much. The case quite often is a proper performing 2x2 setup might take good functioning parts from more than 2 carbs to reach home base. In my personal expirience road testing after rebuilding and before shipping is the safest way to go. I wish I could say road testing is 100% but, well........ Charlie ny |

Here is my issue, my '34 had a worn out 1950 flathead, running 2 holley/ford 94 carbs without issue....besides the white smoke....anyway, I swapped the engine for a totally re-built 1950 flathead, dropped my same intake and 2 carbs on top and now it runs like shit.... starts, idles fine, go down the road and she sputters. So, I re-built these 2 carbs with minimal improvment. The timing is on so do you guys think it may be my ditributor? I was thinking of going to an electronic distributor...HELP!! thanks ~Eric

Try points and condenser, electronics are great till the module goes to sleep.
