Default 1940 info. needed

I am new to the car, have a 40 convert. project, no manual yet, so I am trying to figure out what goes where. First the control knobs under the speaker grille, from left to right what are they, I just have open holes in the dash and are the knobs supposed to be red?, also what is that tiny little chrome button thing a ma jig just above the instrument cluster? Thanks

You need to buy the EFV8 book, on 1940 Fords.

The EFV8 book is a "must have". The Green bible is nice to have but not necessary. The Green Bible was written to tell the man in the parts department what parts will fit, not what is or original to the car. There are very few useful illustrations in the Green Bible, mostly pages of part numbers. Be sure to check one over before you spend the money. Having said that I have a Green Bible and refer to it on some times when I have a question.
