Default Before and After Photos

Here are a couple of photos of my 1937 Ford Fordor De Luxe Before and After I purchased it and got it going.

Do you have some good Before and After photos?

Please Post Them Here.

It was six years ago today (Feb 18, 2012) when I purchased my 1937 Ford Fordor De Luxe. It was not running and had not been driven on a street in 50 years. It took me a few months to get it running and I cleaned it up real good. I was able to get the paint to shine pretty good. I restored/replaced the windshield, fuel system, intake and carburetion, coil, dist, battery, wiring, spark plugs, brake light switch, bulbs, solenoid, muffler/exhaust, original type headlights. It took some doing, but I was able to de-dust the interior. It turned out pretty good. The original plan was to restore the car, but I intend to keep the car unrestored and enjoy as is.

Good for you, Tony. You did a good job and I like your decision to keep it as original as possible. Enjoy driving it as often as you can....

It's a beauty. You made the right decision. Well done. Folks really enjoy seeing a car the way it is as a "survivor".

A sow's ear turned into a silk purse. Well done!

Care to share the secret of de-dusting the interior?

Thanks.

Those seats, they took a couple beatings. It was tough work.

Thanks all.

I appreciate your efforts. I have 2400 hours in my '40 starting with blowing the frame completely apart and starting over. All body work, paint and upholstery by yours truly.

I noticed you kept the South Wind heater. I remember those when I was a kid. Wouldn't those things crank out the heat! Nice car. You "done right".

Looks to be a '39 grille on the "before" donor car....

Tony, you did a great job at preservation, it just looks like it was made to be driven. Close your eyes and it 1937 all over again.

Terrific car and terrific job! If I could have one pre-war Ford other than a pickup, it would be a '37-preserved exactly like yours

flatford8 - I told my 6 yr old g/daughter that I needed a pretty young lady in my car pic. After taking the picture she asked me, "G'pa, will your car ever look pretty?" I assured her that someday my car would be almost as pretty as her. 7 years later she agreed to model for me again.

petehoovie - 40 standard w/wipers on the cowl. (pretty sure it is a standard grille?)
