Default 32 Roadster Sub-rails and Floor panels

Any recommended sub-rails and Floor pans for a 32 Roadster. Who do you think makes the most accurate to the original. I'm not big on Aftermarket parts (Almost Fit Parts) but in this case I think it's the best way to go. JP

When I rebuilt my original bodied deuce roadster the main body was in good shape but the subrails and floor were less that adequate. I used Brookville subrails and floor and they worked out good. They fit and if anybody but David would look at the job they would think they were original. I at that time was blessed by a very talented body man.

There's no substitute for one of those (very talented body man), no matter what your end objective.

Several years ago ( 2015ish?) I had the opportunity to look at an original floorpan side by side with a United Pacific and a Brookville. The UP was dead nuts spot on from my viewpoint. The Brookville had some very minor differences - beads in slightly different spots, etc. Both were dimensionally correct and would fit equally well.

I'm not sure if UP has been able to maintain their level of quality through the recent Covid/supply chain issues since theirs is sourced overseas. In the end both the UP and Brookville are nice products and only the best experts would be able to detect any differences from original.

Just my 2 cents worth.

A talented metal man is generally more interested in the quality of the steel since they would be the ones welding things up. I don't know who could tell a person about either of the products unless they worked with them a bit to find out.

There's the quality of the steel, of course, but in terms of adherence to the original parts in terms of dimensional accuracy and details, those two suppliers are in different leagues based on our experience.

Thanks guys. I've also asked some of my Fabricator friends ans it looks like the United Pacific floor is the one to work with. I've been a bodyman for 50 years specializing in restoration and custom fabrication so I think I'm good to go.

Thanks David:

I've purchased your books. I hope they have alot of Body detail pictures. The Juding Standards are great for the Model A but it's weak in the body area for details.

I can always supplement what's in the book with other material, just ask.

Another item to consider is the door opening width (and the rocker panel) are different between the 5 Window (UP) and roadster (BV). If you use the UP sills you may want to consider a pair of Tom Bay's (R&J) rockers.
