Default Seam Sealer on 31 Tudor

Does anyone know where seam sealer was applied on a 31 Tudor? I know I'll be sealing the header to the visor and the header panel. Any other spots I don't want any water damage once the cars completed. JP

From my experience working on 3 different 30-31 Tudors, there was NO "seam sealer" applied at factory.
Welting around gas tank, fenders and running boards was it.
If your roof material is installed correctly, none will be needed.

I see the vendors sell a 'visor welt' that goes between the sun visor and the wooden header.. I don't know if that helps you or not.

That is correct that a seam sealer was not originally used. There was welting between the upper windshield panel and the underside of the visor; as mentioned cowl/ tank welting and that was about it on the body. Anything that you would put on, would be extra assurance but not done at the factory.

As mentioned above, no Seam Sealer other than Lead was used originally ....however a FWIW, we do use Seam Sealer in several areas on the top including using it above the Quarter Lock Pillar in the joint between the Roof (Side) Panel - ** and the upper portion of the A-56610/11 Quarter Panel Upper. If you will apply two pieces of masking tape about ¼" from each side of the joint, then apply the sealer and screed off, this will fill the joint and create a smooth transition for the top material to follow. Remove the tape when the sealer has tacked-up, then use Wax & Grease Remover and a Nitrile Glove to featheredge where the tape was.

my only advise is.
if you are going to seal stuff on the body. NO NOT use silicone sealer.
your painter will hate you.

Thanks Guys. I'll be using a 2 parts seam sealer so I'll be good. Thanks for the Idea of sealing the roof joint over the "B" pillar Brent. I had forgotten about the 1/4 welt under the visor.
I'm OK, I know the painter!!
