Default Front Motor Mount Adjustment

How tight should the center bottom nut be on the front motor mount yoke be? Should it compress the springs? Just tight enough to get the cotter pin in the castle nut?

I found on my ccpu that if the spring was overly compressed there was more noticeable vibration, especially on deceleration.

I would go with the "just tight enough to get the cotter pin in...."

They're actually a split pin! Cotter pins are an entirely different thing.

They have been called "cotter pins" for at least 133 years. Before I was born!

You guys have changed the terminology of a few things over the years. When did the ring gear move from the flywheel to the diff? I don't know how these things happen but they do - evolution?

The Cotter Key was invented by an Irish man named John Cotter in 1922. Originally used to hold fastners together on cabinets, Cotter keys found other purposes that seemed to be better suited than for that reason, such as, holding the Nuts on a bolt.
