Default Heater Core

Need a new heater core for my 1949 ford Custom. Cant find one in any of the usual parts catalogs. Took mine to a couple of shops and they wont rebuild it.

What is wrong with it. Why won't they attempt repair? Have you found an old time radiator repair shop, versus the more common parts-replacers.

Took it to old well known old school radiator shop and he said the time to rebuild it would be very expensive. Hoping to purchase a new one. Most places have 51 and up, but not 49.

If you would put your general location on your profile someone might recommend a local shop that would do the work. Of course if you are in the witness protection program I understand.

Try calling Shoebox-Central. They list one for ‘50-‘51. He may know where to find a ‘49.

Keep Micheal Driskell in mind at Third Gen Automotive. If he doesn't have what you need he'll know someone who does. That goes for about anything early Ford related.

Shoebox Central does not sell a 1949 ford heater core. I found a radiator shop in Glenside Pa. that will repair any heater core or radiator. Razzi Auto Radiators 215-884-9514
