Model A fender question?
I'm piecing together a Model A. Have a chance to buy everything from front, rear fenders, running boards, aprons and a few other pieces from a 29 coupe. Will any of this work with a roadster body?
Is there a good place to find out what pieces work with what? |

Re: Model A fender question?
As long as your project is 28/29 then everything will bolt straight on.The sheet metal on 30/31 is not the same and is not compatible. You have come to the right place to answer your questions.

Re: Model A fender question?
According to Mary Molilne's book "Model A Miseries and Cures", page 66: Fenders from Roadsters, Coupes, and Cabriolets of the same year are interchangable with Pickup Truck. If they are all interchangable with the Pickup Truck, then they should be interchangable with each other, no? Mary's book is not real technical, but makes interesting reading.

Re: Model A fender question?
Catalogs for fiberglass fenders are a good place to start.

If the same fiberglass fender fits a coupe and a roadster there is a good chance that the same metal fender will fit both a coupe and a roadster. I share your feelings about fiberglass. Re: Model A fender question?
I realize that this is a very old thread, but continuing here as the topic is related....
Does anyone know whether the curvature/arch of the 30/31 roadster/coupe rear fenders are the same as the sedan fenders? Would the coupe fender follow the sedan body line? I know that the mounting is completely different, but I'm mildly tubbing my tudor and could change how the fenders mount. I'd prefer to stick with steel fenders....now only available for roadster/coupe...and would be willing to do the metalwork to accomplish this. Thanks Last edited by jeffgies; 09-25-2023 at 01:56 PM. |

Re: Model A fender question?
Measuring some of my parts, 1928/29 sport coupe/coupe and 1928/29 tudor have a different profile, bolts are in a different location too. Rotating the tudor fender with some work it could be chopped to line up but it would look extremely odd.

Thanks for checking and the replies. That's unfortunate.
