Default 49 Ford O.D. kickdown switch

When installing the kickdown switch , does it go all the way against the bottom of the floor board or is there a certain hight adjustment for underneath the gas pedal? Thanks.

There might be a tech bulletin, but you want to adjust it so that it doesn't engage kickdown until the accelerator opens the carburetor completely. It might take two sets of eyes to watch the carburetor linkage and a continuity meter on the switch.

Tight to the floor board. Has been working fine for over 10 years. As stated above you need to make sure that the switch operates properly when pedal is depressed.

Hope this helps,

Tom
