The space between the cylinders bores is 1/2 inch.

C8AE on that head appears to be a 1968 prefix but I'm not sure on cylinder heads. Their numbers are all over the place.

I was referring the space between the cylinder wall, inside the block, accessed threw the expansion plug hole(Welch plug).
I measure it with a T-handle Allen wrench. The C8AE head, is very common, a lot of them are used on the 360 PU engines.
