Default Pcv valve kit

Whats your opinion on this PCV valve kit for my 51 8ba. Instructions say to remove crankcase breather pipe and plug in pcv and adapter plug. Tee hose into hose on bottom of carburetor that is used for wiper motor.

I assume incoming air will be supplied by the vented cap on the oil fill pipe.

I'm running a PCV system on the 8ba in my '39 p/u. IMO you don't need to buy a kit. I removed the road draft tube and used a Dorman grommet and a PCV valve out of a 231 CI Buick IIRC. I was told you should try to use a PCV valve from a similar displacement engine. Don't know if that's true or not. You can also insert a freeze plug with a hole drilled in it to accept a smaller grommet and freeze plug. I have the part numbers in the shop and I'll post them tomorrow along with photos of the install. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I had a manifold with an additional vacuum port that I used instead of the wiper port but either should work equally as well.

This is from a prior posting about this. Posts #5 and #8 show photos and lists part numbers of my install.

Thanks 51504bat
Sounds like a simple way to accomplish the same thing.
