Never done it myself but a recent post described carefully drilling a hole through the steel hubcap, but not through the stainless. Then a blast of compressed air will blow the stainless part off.

No personal experience.

Mart.

I've taken dozens of them apart, i use a small drill bit (#50) and carefully drill thru the carbon steel. All you have to do is pierce the carbon steel with the tip of the drill bit, and then apply air pressure (110 lbs.). The stainless steel cap should pop right off.
