Default 51 8CM belts size?

Can someone tell me the exact size (length) of the water pump and fan belts? possibly in centimeters, so I can buy extras for my 8CM.
Thank you.

I believe the 8CM designates a 1949 Merc not a 1951 as shown in your avatar.
49 Mercs had wide belts and a different belt configuration than a 1951 Merc. 51 Mercs had 2 offset narrow belts. Which engine do you have?

WABOOM: I may be wrong about the heads based on this from VanPelt.
http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...0to125late.htm

However, to clarify the belt question it would be helpful if you post a photo of your engine
showing the water pump/fan pulley and generator belt configuration and whether or not your belts are narrow (3/8") or wide (5/8 ").

I was looking thru pics of the engine and I I found one that clearly shows the NAPA belt and part #.
Sorry to bother!

Great news! Glad you found it.
I did more research and found that I may be confusing part numbers with year of car. My 1949-52 Mercury Chassis Parts Catalog says the following:

8CM-6049-E is RH cylinder head for models 9M,)M and 1M, years 1949-51
1CM 6049-A is RH cyl. head for model 1M, 1951 year
8CM 6050-E is LH cyl. head for model 9M, 1949 year
8CM 6050-F is LH cyl. head with 3 bosses for oil filter mount, Models 9M-OM-1M, 1949-51 years.
1CM 6050-A is LH cyl. head for model 1 M, 1951 year

Your engine looks to me to have genuine 1951 Mercury heads and has the correct water pumps and belt configuration and width as the 1951 Merc.
Sorry for any confusion or anxiety I may have caused.

PS: Time to change that lower radiator clamp if hasn't been done already.

FoMoCo changed the belts in 1950 when they decided to go narrow and redesign the engine mountings & fan. The 49 Merc was wide belt like an F1 pickup.

8CM heads were used until sometime in early 1951 when they started putting in the Merc-O-Matic transmissions. The 1CM heads started showing up around that time frame along with divorced chokes and a few other odds and ends. Both of my early 1951 Mercs had 8CM heads from the St Louis assembly branch where they were assembled. They are both November 1950 cars.
