Default Stop Light Switch routing

The wiring loom branch for my stop light goes through the battery holder for my 28 Roadster pick-up. This doesn't seem right. Also the wire loom comes up short on the stop lamp in the rear. Should the wire run from the switch through the cross member and then along the frame?

Also, some wire clips surround the wire loom and others pinch the loom in the middle. Which is correct or should they alternate?

Thanks

Bob

Clips should not pinch the loom. There is an extension between the end of the loom and stop/tail lamps which I believe length varies with model, has a special clip to attach to fender bracket. There is also an add-on loom to connect to the right side, if added. Not sure about 28 - on my 30 coupe the brake wires just hang between the switch and the loom along the rail. Loom runs between battery holder and frame rail, a bad place for battery spillage. Cloth loom can be protected with a length of plastic loom.

Sacramento Vintage Ford makes the correct harness for the tail light, so you don't have to buy the extension for the drum taillight cars. They have their own wire harness machine, so they make it correctly.
