Default firewall gas supply fitting

Can the firewall gas supply fitting (that the shut-off valve screws in to) on a 31 (indented firewall) be removed and replaced w/o removing the gas tank? Thanks in advance for any info.

Tim is talking about the pipe going into the tank not the shutoff valve
