Default shock perches w/ hyd. brakes

my 30 coupe was converted to hyd. brakes before i got it, they are in good shape and function very well so i,m not very interested in converting back. my question is this, since the shock perches have been cut off is it possible to weld new perches slightly relocated to accept the shock links and still maintain reasonable geometry and original shock function?

Are your backing plates up with the bleeder at the top? if so put on a modern shock kit, you will save $$$$, and better shocks. the car is modified already so some new shocks wont matter.

I agree with machine girl but if you crave the original shocks, I think the weld would withstand the shock force.

It would really be hard to bleed the brakes, its not easy with the perches cut off anyway. clings had the right idea rotate the backing plates.

I wouldn't weld anything. Get the modern Shocks. (Did I write that, get modern shocks?)
