Part identification

I removed the rear end and transmission from my 31 SW Fordor, I found this piece laying next to the torque tube and I don’t know where it came from or what it is. By chance, do any of you recognize this piece?

It looks like an end from a speedometer cable or part of the speedo drive that fits to the gear.

I'm half way with rotorwrench. I think it is part of the speedo drive from the side of the torque tube that drives the speedo cable. There is probably a small gear around there somewhere too.
It can't get into the teeth of the differential so I wouldn't stress over it.
