1942-1948 Ford Center Crossmember
Is the welded versus riveted center crossmember design specific to a certain year on 1942-1948 Ford frames? I have heard that this difference depended on which plant the frame was made rather than the year. If not, which year(s) used the welded design and which year(s) used the riveted design? I tried various searches in this forum on this question without success.

My '47 is riveted. Who's got a welded crossmember and what year is your car?

Re: 1942-1948 Ford Center Crossmember
Old Henry, Thanks for the your input. Please guys, which center crossmember have you got under your 1942-1948 car and is the frame original to your car? Surprisingly, from what I have been told, there is nothing about the welded versus riveted center crossmember in the Early Ford V8 Club 1941-1948 Ford Book?

I see a lot of views on my post. Are you guys out looking under your car to see which crossmember you have!? Thanks in advance to anyone who can add to the 'data'.

Re: 1942-1948 Ford Center Crossmember
My early V8 book says that the convertibles and wood bodied cars were welded and the rest of the steel bodied cars were riveted. There were some variations from one factory to the next though.
