Pioneer Power Swap Meet
I just got home from the Pioneer Power swap meet and went looking for Model A parts. This is mainly a gas engine/tractor swap meet, but it's very large and a little bit of everything shows up. The only A parts I bought was an ammeter and a generator with a special small pulley. I'll take a picture of it and start a new post tomorrow.
One very interesting thing I saw today was a 1914 Briscoe for $19,000 or best offer. I'd never heard of a Briscoe before, and this one was in remarkable original condition. The paint was so nice, that it must have been repainted once, but the original leather seats were very nice. The single headlamp sure give the car a very unusual look. The pattern on the hubcaps matches the unusual pattern on the radiator cap. Notice the fuel fill in the center of the very plain intument panel. |

Re: Pioneer Power Swap Meet
OK Tom you made me look it up. Briscoe autos were built in Jackson, MI. They were advertised as "French design at American prices". I like the single head light styling.

Re: Pioneer Power Swap Meet
Hi Tom,
I am in Chaska for a conference today but will be at the Best Western near the Mall of America tomorrow. Is there a Model A event in that area tomorrow. My schedule is totally open but I have no transportation. Thanks, Supergnat from NJ Last edited by supergnat; 04-27-2013 at 08:02 AM. Reason: Correct spelling error |

The Pioneer Power swap meet is usually the first swap meet of the year for me, so all that walking really gets me in shape, or more like out of shape. This is located about 50 miles southwest of Minneapolis, MN. |

Re: Pioneer Power Swap Meet
I agree with Tom, there weren't many model A parts at the Pioneer Power swap meet this year. It seems that each year the picking get slimmer for model A parts. For tractor parts, especially John Deere parts, no problem - tons of them. I did find a few small items including a 28/29 headlight bar and one headlight bucket and rim for $20. I pooped out after 7 hours of constant walking - however the weather was great (first really nice day this year - 70 degrees and sunny).
