Default Trans detent problem

Just for info, but I ran across this today. The trans would shift ok sometimes and sometimes get stuck between second and third. No movement. Other times it was just hard to shift. We found that someone used a wrong detent on one side and it would not allow enough room for the spring to compress and let the detents slid out of the notch. The spring would bottom out and I guess the "Guy" had to pound the shaft in while pushing the detent as far as he could. The detent bullet that was the problem had a cone shaped end with a flat end instead of the dome shape. The hole for the spring was not as deep and the other bullet. All ok now.
