Default chrome looking spray paint

I have a small piece that looks like it was originally a very shinny zinc plated finish NOT a chrome finish and part of it has flaked off and rusted......Have any of you "Barner's" used any of the rattle can "shinny" finish spray paint with good results??? Its a small horn screen SO not in direct line of sight type of piece that is sort of up inside the trumpet of the horn!!!

Thanks

Never painted one but made a replacement a while ago out of stainless mesh of the appropriate dimension from EBAY.

Hmmmmmm, my screen is domed shape and has a flanged edge AND the mesh is little round holes NOT screen SO not sure I can make a standard mesh work PLUS the above mentioned detail IS pretty noticeable and part of the "Euro" look AND its "original"!!!!

Thanks for your input Sir

Rustoleum rattle can chrome just looks like silver paint. Don't use if wanting a comparable chrome like finish.

I saw a 1935 Ford truck grille that had been powder-coated with a chrome like powder that looked really good. You might want to look into something like that.

Thanks for all the replies. Fortunately for me, I pulled my piece out to clean it with a small wire brush OR maybe blast it in my cabinet and found that the "suspect" area was just MUNGE!! I cleaned it with some warm soapy water and its ready to be re-installed. Thanks for everyone's in put!!!!

That looks very interesting. Expensive, but interesting.
