Default 1930-1931 townsedan Interchangeable Parts

A friend called last night with this question. Which the body parts off a 1930 town sedan fit a 1931 slant window sedan? He has good fenders (all four), splash aprons, running boards, off a 1930 Townsedan and a hood off a 1931 tudor. He has the opportunity to obtain a 1931 SW fordor body with a running engine . Will his parts fit the SW. He also has much of a disgarded but in good condition vinyl interior - F/R seats and door panels. Will these fit.

These are good questions on the parts interchange.
I have a '31 SW and I would like to know what would fit (interchange)
As a young man we had a book (can't remember the name for the life of me) that listed all the interchangeable parts on a vast array of cars and trucks and engines.
That would be a very good book for the Model A hobby.

I'll be watching this thread to see what I can learn.

hollanders interchange. They sell a 1920-1948 manual
www.hollanderinterchange.net

I believe all junk yards are listing there parts here
www.car-part.com this site gives you the body part interchange

There are old ones that cover cars of the 1930s but I don't know if they made a sheet metal one.

Gentlemen some where in a very vast collection of car books that I have are original Mitchell interchange books that cover from 1912 thru 1960 I have several different books and each covers a segment of the years that span this time frame. I will look for them for you the first of the week and see if I can dig them out. Please send me. A email as to what exactly you need a me to look up for you
They are boxed up with or in about sixty pasteboard boxes and I just will not be able to look for them till probably Tuesday or maybe as late as Wednesday .i have used them for well over 40 years and bought them back in the early 70s . They cover just about any and everything and have saved my cookies many times over the years. It's really amazing what interchanges from certain makes and years of cars.

1930 front fenders have a part of the running board splash apron attached, so the differ differ from 1931 from front fenders which do not. The 1930 fenders are usable on a 1931 if you include the running boards and splash shields.

1930 or 1931 front fender support braces will work, and the 1930 & 1931 headlight bars are interchangeable.

A 1930 or 1931 radiator and radiator grill shell will fit.

1930 and 1931 hoods are interchangeable.

A Model "A" so equipped will not be authentic and suffer badly in any show competition.

Perhaps you can find someone on the Barn to arrange a trade of the 1930 parts for some 1931 parts.

What does your friend mean by "fit"? Is he building a high point restoration, a driver or a rat rod? Big difference for the answer.
