Default re-wiring the 6 volt horn for 12 volt use

I'm using the 6 volt reducer for the horn on my coupe which is converted to 12 volt. Has anyone re-wired their horn for 12V and if so, what size and length of wire did you use and are you satisfied with the result ?
Thanks

I've run 6v ahooga horns on 12v for years with no apparent damage.

Bratton's sells a voltage reducer that fits nicely inside the cap on the back of the horn. At least they did a couple of years ago. Call them. Snyder's sells one but it's a big pricey thing that mounts on the frame.
