Tail light bracket rubber pad which one is correct?
I purchased a taillight bracket rubber pad from Brattons and it does not look like the pad I am replacing. So, I don't know which one is correct.
Brattons pad is much thinner and it does not have the lip that curls up around the outside edge. When Brattons is installed you will not see the pad behind the bracket. Any ideas? |

original unrestored sedan I saw had no visible lips , perhaps no pads at all. don't forget good ground of assembly to fender, etc. via bolt holes, etc.

originally there is NO rubber pad under the tail light bracket or head light bar. they are an after market after thought.

You need them to trap water and promote rust under the bracket.

"A thin piece of rubber that fits between the bracket and the fender, it saves the paint. Pad is not seen after installation. Not originally used. Make sure the tail light is still grounded when adding this pad." |

The ones with the raised ridge are really HARD to fit well, under the tail light stand!
