Kube - Excellent article, as my Aussie friends say: good on ya, Mate! Had no idea such a critter existed, so thanks for expanding my knowledge! Now perhaps I should add one to the collection........😂😇

Congratulations, Mike, to both you and the car!!! It is a great article!!! When I opened the mail and first saw the car, my first thought was "wonder if that's Mike's '40 with the Mercury factory engine?" Sure enough, it was!!!

Thanks, too, for bringing us along on your restoration here on the Barn as well.

Regards......Dick.

For many years, a long time member of the Club brought in new members by promising he'd buy back their V8 Times for the price they paid for membership in the Club. Not one single Member ever took him up on his offer.

I just got home from the Portland Swap Meet and saw that I had a V8 Times waiting for me. Seeing a PERFECT Lyon Blue Convertible on the cover, I knew instantly who built the car without opening the book. I am in awe of your skill Mike! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and being an example for us to strive for. Nice article as well as the pictures.

Thanks
Why not join the Early Ford V-8 Club and get 6 issues a year of the V-8 times magazine. If you join now you will get the latest V-8 Times magazine with Kube's car in it. You'd be surprised what you are missing by not getting the V-8 Times. The club does not post links so people can read the magazine for free.

Did all Mercury engines in '40 Fords have the aluminum high compression heads?
