3 speed stock transmission
Easy question I'm rebuilding and will store the transmission for an extended period of time.
Question with the assumption that all the gears are soaked with oil does anyone see an issues with coating all of the surfaces using a spray lithium lubricant? Just as some added protection? |

Re: 3 speed stock transmission
I like Fluid Film for keeping corrosion away from metal parts, it’s the only thing that keeps my battery terminals clean.

Re: 3 speed stock transmission
Ive had issues with spray lithium in south Florida. I use fluid film or CRC soft seal or spray cosmoline for long term

Re: 3 speed stock transmission
If it is in an indoor location that isn't humid, I see no issue with just putting some good gear oil in it, making sure all the gears are coated and calling it good. I've had transmissions that sat for 30 years - no issues in the least when I pulled the covers.
