Maybe someone has a picture of Barb’s telephone truck they could post. I can’t remember if it had a box or bed. JW Hash would know, as he’s worked on it.

With just 3 hours left on the auction
the bidding is stalled out at $9200.
Usually last minute bidding drives prices
higher... but this one may not make reserve.

I believe that on the inside of the rear door there is a serial number or production plate that will show the box's date of manufacture, I think you can see it on the left door. I know that the one that was formerly in Vernon Burk's collection had a date from the late 30's but because it was restored at the same time as the truck it looked original. I have pictures of it somewhere...

Bidding went to $11,500..... did not sell
as it didn't meet the reserve.
Maybe another day.

FYI, this truck was listed on eBay a couple times in the past few months, believe high bid was 22,900 but didn't meet the reserve.

Wandering the internet yesterday I found this image on Getty.

Here is the caption
Exterior view of the Illinois Bell Telephone Company building in Aurora (IL), a three-story office building on Stolp Avenue at Holbrook Street, 1931.

And the full size image.

I tried to buy the truck. As high bidder he was automatically sent my contact info in case he wanted to negotiate a sale. Never heard a word.
