Default 1930 68B loose passenger door latch help

I have searched a lot and also in several forums and still can't find a passenger door latch for a +/- mid-1930 wood door Cabriolet straight window.

The latch bolt end that holds against the striker plate is loose inside the door and the latch opening it sits in is worn so the bolt end wiggles side to side over an 1/8 inch so the door does not stay closed snug. The springs and rods seem fine.

Does anyone know if some other car door latch end can be used or is this a case where only welding and fabrication have to be done to the old worn out one?

Seems a bit strange, but because the lock is only on the passenger side, I guess that is the worn out door that was always opened more than the driver door.

My driver door latch is still really nice and snug fitting in the door.

Thanks

you should have the lift type handle on the inside. other then being chrome plated. they are the same door lathe as the late 28 through 31 Briggs four door. you will need one out of the right front, so it will have the lock set up in it.

Thanks I have just relooked at Brattons, Berts, Snyders, so far no 68B or 1929-31 Briggs Fordor latch that I can see. I will keep looking.

no one sell reproduction door latches for the 68A or B . I would check with Steve at Bert`s and see if he has some originals. I normally just repair the ones I have. the left rear door latch on the Brigg`s four door is the same except for the lock set up. but they do have the holes in them for it. so you can remove your and Install it.
